tire sze and leveling question

I just bought a 2005 supr cab long box 4x4. It is seriously down hill toward the front.
What I need .to k now is lifting the front a simple job and what are the negative repercussions of installing it along with bigger tires,
It currenly has 245 70r 17. tires . Not sure what the diameter of them but they sure look too small!!
Do larger tires mess with gear ratios too much. Also gas milage??
Can the speedometer be programed to match the bigger tires.?
Can I increase tire size slightly without any issues. if so what size??

Please excuse these elementary questions

A Autospring, or similar designed leveling kit is not a difficult install. They are basically a metal spacer that bolts on top of the coilover shock assembly. 2.5 inches is the practical limit for these leveling kits. Any higher and the cv/ball joint angles become too severe and wear out quicker. One of these kits will allow you to install up to a 315/70-17 (35x12.50) tire using the oem wheels with minor rubbing on the control arms at full steering lock. Your dealership can reprogram you computer to correct your speedo, or you can do it yourself with an aftermarket tuner like the Superchips or Edge tuners. The taller the tire you go with the more it affects your gear ratio, performance and gass milage.
