AS Leveling install ? Please!

For you guys with AS 1.5'' spacer......

Well last night I pulled the trigger and leveled my truck! The only thing I really didn't like is I had to turn my front struts around backwords to re-mount then back in the truck. Has this happened to any one else? There is only one way that the spacer seems to mount up? I marked everything before I pulled the factory strut out and putting it back together I was puzzle a bit due to the fact I had to turn my strut completely backwards to remount it due to the spacers studs being on the opposite position of the studs on the top of the factory struts. I guess this is just the way they designed the kit to re-mount back in the truck? It's a 1 1/2" spacer, thank god I went with that because the the truck sits perfectly level, anything more than that would make me sit front end high. It's just a 2wd Crew

I did mine on my 2004 FX4. I didn't have to turn the struts around or anything. I can't remember, but I think the Auto Spring leveling spacers were left and right hand side specific. Could be different on a 2wd though.

Ok, I haven't SEEN the 1.5 kits. But I'm guessing they did that because there isn't enough clearance to get the nuts on top of the factory studs. They re-clock the the shocks 180 degrees so that the factory studs aren't directly underneath spacer's studs. The taller kits have more clearance and don't require this.

yes, i am running the same kit, and thats just the way they are made. the kits arent left and right sided.... they are identicle. the reason that the 1.5" kits have to be turned 180 degrees is because it is too small...... there isnt enough room between the 2 plates to get the spacer tightened if the bolts were all aligned the same. the strut bolts would be hitting the bolts for the spacer if they were in line. so, with the bolt pattern turned 180, it all works out.

Thank you guys for the response I just needed to make sure that I didn't get a messed up kit. Everything seemed to bolt in place, I just wasn't sure on the 180 degree part I feel much better and will now enjoy it The instructions that they gave me where for the 2.5 inch spacer and didn't mention the anything about the 180 degree part, they need specific directions for the 1 1/2'' so paranoid guys like me dont have to worry if thery are installed right

Whats better, 1.5" or 2.5", does the 2.5 make it lean to the back cause i'm going for a level look.

To me the 2.5" was almost to much; it almost makes the front end sit up higher than the back...not by much. I didn't really look around to much but if you can find a 2" that is what i would suggest. I installed mine last weekend and have not gotten a chance to get the pics off the camera but i will try and get to it today and post a pic for your veiwing pleasure.

The 2.5" I think is a little too much, Your front will be just a tad higher, but you can always throw new blocks out back for cheap or an Add-a-Leaf, I went with the 2.5" and an AAL, the AAL was the best move.....

I have the 2.5 AS on my 04 Screw FX4 and it sits almost perfectly even. My cousin and I installed it for me this weekend and I measured it right away. I'm extremely happy with the look of the truck now. Got compliments almost instantly.

This is common on the leveling kits. If you get a kit that has a soacer made out of a solid piece of billet, it is going to have to have the studs off set from the original posetion so you have a place to put the factory nuts back on the strut. Then they put the stude in the space that et bolted back onto the truck 180 degrees from the factory ones. No big deal.

The kit I got has a steel pipe in the middle and flanges welded to the ends. I did not have to "spin" my strut to install this kit. The factory studa and the spacer stude line up with each other and due to the space between the flanges, you have toom to put on the nuts.
