Does anyone know what parts/kit i would need for my 1999 f 150 4x4? All i see on ebay is 2x and the rest are not labeled. Any information would be awesome, thanks!

remove the stock rear block, will net you 2'' drop in the rear. for the front, lower the torsion bars down some. the further you lower a 4x4, the more problems you will face, as you have other components to worry about a 2WD does not to factor in with dropping. for more info, see the Street Scene section. That's where the lowered guys are.

Ummm.......all you really need to do is dial the torsion bars down a little, remove the rear block and add some rear shocks from a 2wd. This will put you at the same height as a 2wd. There really isn't any "KIT" required.

You can't get any more than about 2 inches of drop out of the front. But if you want to drop the back a little more to level with the front, you could add some lowering shackles. Just make sure you swap out the rear shocks.

If you can't get 2 inches of drop from your torsion bar keys without the the bolt backing out.......swap in the keys from a Chevy. And I'm being serious....that's not supposed to be a joke!!

Yeah, I know that some shops where selling oem Ford torsion bar adjustment keys to GM owners as a leveling kit. They are indexed differently.

wandel, i want my truck to sit EXACTLY like your expedition! those are 20s right? whats the size of the tread and what can i do to get it to sit like that. If its just torsion keys and rear blocks that would be SWWEEET. any modifications other than that aswell?

My information is in my sig. The Expy is a stock 4x2 with 305/45-22's. My tires are basically 33x12.50-22's. If you remove the 2 inch lift block, install lowering shackles and back off the preload on your torsion bars, you may wind up at about the same height as my Expy. The 305/45-22's are a large tire and sort of give the illusion that the trcuk is lower than it is because they fill up the wheelwells so much.

Yeah, just do like Wandell says and it should be about the same height as his Expy. And I think the 22's look just right.....better than 20's or 24's.

Back off the torsion bars until the bump-stop just barely makes contact with the control arm. Use Chevy keys if necessary. You can do that with hardly any reduction in ride quality. If you go all the way down.....your truck will ride like a go cart!!

Just make sure to put some 2wd shocks on the back!! The rear bump-stop is on the factory block. If you remove that block, you're basically eliminating the bumpstop. This will cause your rear shocks to bottom out which could cause serious damage if they take a hard enough hit. Just regular 2wd shocks will work fine, you don't need any special "lowered" shocks. Even with a lowering shackle, the bump-stop will hit the axle before the shocks bottom.
