im new here, and haven't done the forum things before. okay i have an 07 supercrew, 4x4, xlt. bone stock as of right now, i am getting ready to start working on it, i want to get a 3" skyjacker suspension kit, 35x10.5x17 super swamper ssr radials, american racing thug's 17x8.5 with +6 offset. is it gonna rub? everybody i talk to says that their 35's rub, but barely and on the inside, so i went with a thinner tire, and wheels with not so much of a positive offset. any advise would help
That's an unusual tire size. I would not go with the 3 inch Skyjacker. It will leave you csv and ball joints at too severe of an angle to last long. Most people agree that 2.5 inches of lift is the absolute limit without drop down brackets. If you install a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit you can fit 35x12.50's by using the oem wheels or one with almost identical specs (7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of bs). PawPaw is running 35x12.50's and a leveling kit by using an 8 inch wide wheel with 5.5 inches of bs.
Yup i am running a 2.5" Autospring kit and the install was super easy. I highly recommend the kit and so will most others on the site. You can safely fit 35's on your truck with the 2.5" kit. I have 35x12.5x18's on my truck on the stock wheels. If you are doing aftermarket wheels with 35's it's a different story. You have to find the right backspacing and width so that you will get minimal rubbing
Go with the 12.50's. People are running 35x12.50's on stock 7.5 inch wheels.......like CRF250 - very nice!! I know the tire manufacturer doesn't recommend it......but everyone does it.
Also, the SSR is an EXCELLENT tire. Have a set of 33x14.50's But the SSR's are BIGGER than comparable tires of the same size. Rubbing could be an issue. And the HUGE lugs of the SSR aren't very forgiving when they do rub something.
Your best bet would be BFG or Toyo muds.

well thanks to you guys i am now only spending half the money i was plannin on spending on this, so that rocks!!! the wife will be happy, lol. So you think with goin with the 35x10.50x17 would rub even thou they arent as wide as the 12.50's?
i looked at the bfg's, is there gonna be any difference cause i have 17" wheels, versus the 18" wheels that CRF250 has? it just seems like a really wide tire for a not so wide wheel. not tryin to beat a dead horse, just want to make sure i do my homework, i really do appreciate your guy's info buy the way.

No one has ever had an issue with running them on the thinner rims at all. You will be fine. The 10.5's shouldn't rub I would think, but lets see what others have to say on that. Good luck with the install I know you will love it when you are done
No difference between the 17's and 18's really. You will just have 1/2" more of sidewall on each side of the tire which doesn't really matter at all.

Several people have run 12.50 wide tires on the oem 7.5 inch wide wheels with no problems. Sometimes running a tire on too narrow a wheel can cause the center portion of the tire's tread to wear slightly faster than normal, similar to running too much air pressure. The ride quality will not be affected at all. Sounds like he was trying to push a set of wheels on you. Keep in mind, the oem wheels are 7.5 inches wide and most 12.50 inch wide tires call for an 8 to 10 inch wide wheel, so you are not too far outside the manufacturers recommendations.
i called the same tire store, but this store was at a different location, and the guy i talked to said to bring it in when im ready and they'll throw them on there for me, lol. Good lookin trucks by the way guys.
