help can i put in a steering box myself?????

2000 f150 4x2 i was in a car accident and the 2 lower bolts that hold it on snapped off.
i got another steering box and sprayed all bolts down with pb blaster to help loosen my fears are?
1. how hard is it to loosen the steering shaft from it?
2. how hard is it to remove the i guess the pitmin bolt and pull that off? (i do have a pulley puller)
3. and what will i need to do to make sure my wheel stays lined up? any info a great help. i work on stuff here and there but have a very short tempaer lol..

It's an easy job. Hardest part is gonna be getting the bolt out that holds the shaft on and removing the power steering lines. And they aren't really "hard".....its just a little tight to get to.

The pitman arm is easy if you have the correct puller.

If your truck is already aligned, it won't effect your alignment. But your steering wheel may no longer be centered.

I would go buy the socket you will need it. Then you can either use a strong bar or your impact. Any tech is going to use an impact on it to take it off and put it on. There might be a torque spec on it somewhere but most techs just put it on really f'n tight.

I had a nasty accident years ago around xmas time on way home from work getting ready to go to the christmas party that eve anyway, snapped secptor shaft in gear box on my 78 Bronco Ranger XLT . But my buddy and I didthe repair r in the snow in the road in front of my home(rental ) when i was about 22 . But then again my bolts didnt snaplike your .Anyway the only thing I can remeber other than it cold and snow was that we had to get the steering wheel straight along with the meats .
