leaf spring replacement

Hey guys, I took my rear left wheel off and noticed the second spring from the bottom has a 3" section broke off and missing towards the middle of it. Can you just replace one leaf spring? I had both sets replaced about four years ago due to an accident. Also would replacing only one cause the truck to not be level? Thanks a bunch.

easier to replace the whole leaf pack. And i would recommend it because the ones that are still working are being stressed right now, and may fail sooner then a replacement would.

hit up some junk yards. If you want to come to Austin or Waco one weekend ill find you one and help you put it in.

im sure i can find you one at a junk yard if you cant find one yourself

Thanks bud. Is it necessary to replace both sides? I've been told that replacing only one side will cause it to be unlevel as the other side has some natural sag in it and the new or newer springs wouldn't.

just get a used one from a junk yard. If you are gonna shell out the coin for new ones then i would replace both, but if you get one from a junk yard it should be about the same sag as the other one on your truck

General Spring can set you up with new spring packs. If you're doing one side, might as well do the other side again as well...more than likely the new-four-years-ago springs have settled a bit already and it'll be lopsided with just one new pack. Would be a good time to upgrade capacity if you need to too.

I wouldn't bother with replacing a single leaf in a pack either, but I suppose it could be done if you could find a new leaf.
