What do I do to fix front end droop/bob when plow is on?
So i'm finally ready to fix the suspension problem I have when plowing.. I have 2000 F150 7700, no mods to the suspension, and still the original suspension as far as I know, at 105kmiles. For normal use, the truck is great, though, the rear end is significantly higher then the front. When I put the plow on though (about 1k lbs), the front dives quite a bit, and I definitely have more break dive. The most annoying part is that even when the plow is fully raised, it sometimes will scrape the ground when pulling into a driveway or going over very uneven terrain. So what would be the fix for this? I don't really want to lift the truck, as its already high enough for wife/kids to get into.. Hoping the answer may be stiffer suspension, or maybe even a leveling kit will raise the front enough to keep the plow from scraping? (Though, I don't think that will fix the break dive)...
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.
With the 7700 you have beefier torsion bars I do believe. I would crank them up until it is level with the plow off. Then put the plow on and see how much it changes. If you do it with the plow on then once it comes off the front will be higher than the back..

well JMC you just beat me to it...
i plow with my 98 f150 and the front end doesn't even notice the plow is on, all i did was crank the T-bars... and of course add ballast (past the rear wheels) usually about 700#'s of salt
