Sterring wheel wobble at 55mph

Help!! My truck has developed a bad wobble( Back and forth) on the steering wheel at approx 55mph. When I apply the brakes, the wobble goes away until the truck makes it up to around that speed again.. Where would be the best place to start looking. I have new front brakes and shocks on the front and just recently replaced both sway bar end links. Also, I am getting an uneven wear pattern on the right front tire only. It is not wearing on the inside or outer edges, just a "cupping" pattern like on every other tread block. BTW, the truck has 185K miles on the clock. Thanks in advance for everybodys help.

PS, I have already done a search on this subject. I tried to describe the symptoms as closely as possible in order to narrow down the possibilities.

you need to balance your tires. you also need to start rotating them more often to keep them from cupping especially if they are an aggressive tread.

Thanks paralyzer. They are standard street tires, nothing aggressive.

They are Continenetal tires if that makes a difference?? Also the truck does have over 185K miles on it. I wil try anything to get it to stop vibrating. But like I said, it did seem to come on fairly quick. I came to the boards for advice of those who will have a good idea of the problem. As always, all input is most welcomed.

The tire brand makes no differance. This will happen to any tire. You may have hit a pot hole or the tire just wore out. Does the left tire look the same?

No. Wear pattern is only on the right front tire.

The best way to make sure with out a dout, is to put the front tires on the rear and see if the vibration goe's to the rear. The vibration will not come threw the steering wheel but you will feal it in the seat.Try that and see. By the way is that dodge city ks.

Just got back from the tire shop. Had a 4 tires rotated and high speed balanced. I haven't had the truck up on the highway just yet, but it does feel smoother!!! RF tire had a ridge of intermittent high and low spots on the tread blocks. Will be replacing that one very soon. More news to follow once I get the truck up to warp speed on the highway. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed? Thanks guys...
