Shackle Lift ?

I am confused on the whole shackle lift idea. Can anyone explain this type of rear lift to me. I want the springtech 1.5" rear shackle lift for my 04 new body style F150. They are cheaper than AAL's and since i dont need the extra carry capacity so i dont see why i need an AAL if i can get the same lift for half the price and maintain the factory ride.

How do you install these?

Does anyone have a picture of one installed? I would love to see one?

What are the disadvantages to them?

Thanks

Hey Chazf150,

So you are running a 5" block, lift shackle, and basic Fabtech rear shock?

Chaz did you net a true 1.5" lift? Or was it more or less? Any change in the ride quality?

Davespeed - yes

Daculatruck50 - ride stayed the same

B4 with 6+2AS & 5" rr blocks

Now 6+2 & 5+1.5
I`ll say it gave me an extra 1"

So are you level with the 6+2 up front and the 5+1.5 out back? Or do you still sit low in the back?

I also have them and I would say they gave me 1". vary fast install and didn't change my ride. I have the 8200 (7-lug) pakage and have loaded the crap out of the truck so far they have not given me any problems.

im considering getting a set as well.... i want to put a 1.5" leveling kit on top of my RCD lift up front, and then the shackles in the rear..... i have airbags in the rear though, so im hoping that the shackle wont stretch them.
