Your question was pretty vague and lift kits are a pretty big subject for a question that really wasn't too specific.

The difference is that on coilover lifts the front shocks are adjustable.

"Coilover" means a shock with a coilspring mounted on it. The 04-08 F-150's use independendant front suspension (IFS) with coilover shocks. A coilover lift would refer to a lift kit for a truck with this type of suspension. What type of truck do you have?

Your truck has coilover suspension then. How much do you want to lift it? Is it a 4x4 or 4x2?

Then you can get a 6" lift from one of several manufacturers out there...FabTech, RCD, Pro Comp, RoughCountry, etc, etc. You need a budget first because you can get a basic lift that retains the stock coil over, or you can go full blown with new trick coil overs. Gets pricey.

RIght. The standard 6 inch Pro Comp lift is a good kit and is relatively inexpensive. However, it retains your OEM coilover shocks by use of a special spacer. You can later upgrade to heavy duty adjustable coilover shocks and replace the oem coilover/spacer combo. A lot of the other kits come with a longer replacement coilover shock, but they cost more money.

I would suggest getting the 6" Fabtech dirtlogic coilover lift. It allows you to crank the front coils up 2 more inches to get 8"s of lift in the front so you can run 37's, but if you decide to run 37's then you will need to regear and get an add-a-leaf for the rear. So i would suggest the 6" fabtech dirtlogic coilover lift and run 35's, they usually run right around $2,200 or you can get the basic 6" fabtech for around $1,600. Contact Josh at sportztrailers- (866) 922-0093 Ext.107 he will hook you up with a good deal, tell him your a member of the forum.
