Cheap 2''?

Ok, what do you think about the old torsion bar twist with longer shackles in the back to gain a 2in lift? Sounds like it would work but also sounds shady. I am sure it would make a stiff ride but what kinda damage could it cause? Also would it make a difference if you already have a 6in suspension? Tell me what you think guys.:beers:

it works great. ride is alittle stiffer but not unbearable, as for the back you will need blocks or an extra leaf. longer shackles will lower the rear :fyi:
And make sure to get an alighnment afterwards.

So do you have a 6in already or no? Thanks for the info on the shackles though I hate the look of the back lower then the front. If I put a extra leaf in will this need longer u bolts? Thanks:beers:

Yes, you can crank up your torsion bars with your Fabtech. Out back you could add a larger lift block or an aal to raise the rear.

depends on how much extra thread you have left on your u-bolts. when i added mine i had plenty of thread left so i did not have to buy new u-bolts.

Well according to what the guys have said it will make the back lower. What I think they mean is you wont get enough lift out of them to stay level with the front. Some one let me know if I am wrong.:beers:

Paralyzer 08-25-2008 08:46 PM

a lift shackle is actually shorter and therefor does not allow the spring to "flatten" as much as it should. not a big deal to some but for someone who likes to flex out the suspension id stay away.
