Question are body lifts bad ?

i (well my wife) has a 2006 scab that i am working on. i did a 3 inch leveling kit and want to do a 3 inch body lift in addition. my brother told me that i do not want to do a body lift because of ride quality. is this true? also i have seen where 3 inch leveling kit is too much. has anyone actually had trouble with this. thanks for any info as i am a newbie to 4x4's
i plan to do 33" tires on 20" wheels

There is nothing wrong with a properly designed body lift like the Performance Accessories kits. I'm on my third truck with a PA body lift and have never had a problem. They don't have any affect on ride quality.
Also, if you are referring to an 04-08 F-150, 3 inches is too much lift and will cause premature ball joint wear.

ride quality is not altered at all with a body lift. it is the oversize tires that alter the ride, as well as the leveling kit. body lifts are pretty safe, the only thing i would not be comfortable doing is jumping a truck w/ one, always a stupid idea to me. i've offroaded my truck pretty hard w/ a body lift, and it has held up just fine.

unbolt the 3 in leveling kit, and downsize to a 2-2.5'' kit. it WILL save you $ in the long run.

you will be able to do it but its going to be a pain on some parts but if you can its better than paying a guy to do it and have him charge you 600

They are not that hard to install, but it is time consuming, tedious work. Everyone says the 04-08's are a real pain.
