lift kit question

This may be a dumb question, but why wouldn't a 4wd lift kit fit on a 2wd?

Usually, the suspension systems are completely different, like on the 97-03's. I know the 04-08 trucks use the same suspension systems, but I'm not sure if the lifts interchange because I've never seen anyone try it. I know that the 2500HD GM trucks use the same suspension on 4x4's and 4x2's and I've seen a couple of lifted 4x2's in truck magazines that used 4x4 lifts. Apparantly it worked fine and they just had a few parts left over.

Lots of things on the new F150's the spindle will be diffrent. The where the holes are for the brackets may not line up. Why do you ask 4x2 kits are cheaper?

I wanted to go higher than 6" without using a body lift. And don't most kits replace the spindles?

I was wanting to clear a 37" tire or maybe a little smaller 355/60r20. Would a 6" fab.kit + a 2" as spacer work?

CST makes a 7" lift for 2wd. and it does replace the spindles. i think most kits do.
