lift question

This may be a dumb question, but why wouldn't a 4wd lift kit fit on a 2wd?

the simplest answer i can provide is that the 4WD sits on an entirely different frame than a 2WD. you also have components such as the front differential, coilovers, cv shafts, etc, that aren't there on a 2WD, hence you would need a different kit to lift the different components that are there.
