They left them in. I will never forget that Jeep...I hated putting the damn top back up every night. In all fairness, it looked nice from a distance.

- retards... I totaled my first 2000 F150 with a body lift on it about 2 years ago. 20 car pile up in the dead of winter on the highway here in Michigan. I had my wife and kids in the truck. I was stuck twice, once down the entire drivers side from front to rear bumper, then again on the passenger side about 10 seconds later.

While the truck was totaled, I barily felt the impact (my 1 year old didn't even wake up). I would hate to see what they result would have been if I had hockey pucks and 2x4s... Anyway to answer the OP's question; Yes, this would be why BLs get a bad name. If installed correctly with a proper kit (Performance Accessories), I am convinced they are 100% safe, if not safer than no BL at all. Please think twice everyone about going down this road to save a few $s...It ain't worth it.
