so why is my 97 puny compared to my buddys 01

why does my 97 have 3 leaf springs and smaller wheel lugs compared to my buddys 01 with 4 leaf springs and bigger lugs. is it something to do because he has a 5.4, and i have a 4.6

Engine didn't matter.
There were a few 'payload' package options but, I don't know if that meant a fourth spring or the 2001 got a fourth spring across the line.

The nuts got bigger across the line, I think in 2000.

I remember my neighbor was trying to keep his 1999 Lariat wheels for his 2001 but, the center caps wouldn't 'hook-up' because he had bigger nuts.

pretty much, I have to put the side steps back on and install gap guards. Plus I need an alignment, new tow hooks, and my exhaust to be raised. It's driveable though. I'm making a thread now and uploading pics as I type this.
