2" leveling kit for 08 SuperCrew?

2" leveling kit for 08 SuperCrew?

I recently purchased a 2008 SuperCrew with 18" wheels. The dealership will install a 2" Skyjacker leveling kit for $400. Is this a good deal? Is this a decent kit? Will my truck look OK if I keep the stock wheels and tires on for now? I plan on keeping the stock chrome wheels and eventually going to bigger tires once these are worn out. Any advise would be appreciated. Sorry if these questions have been asked before. I am new to this site and my first F-150.

I would just buy a 2" autospring kit for $70 and install yourself. We have a very good write up in here about it. It took me a little over three hours to do it. Then all you have to do is pay for an alignment. Mine was $80 so for $150 you could have it on and the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

way over priced for the install but then again the dealer cant say **** about it not being covered under warranty unless they prove the leveling kit did the damage and i got mine installed for less than 200 but very easily can do it yourself if u have the tools

$400 Thats WAY over priced! I bought mine for $90, installed it my self and paid $86 for a alignment. If you can, do it yourself its not that hard. If you dont think you can, call around and price shop. $400 sounds a little on the high side. Ive heard people here getting it done for about $200-250.

Bought mine for $79. Installed it myself in a little over an hour. $39 for alignment.

Sounds high. I once saw one on a dealers lot with a leveling kit. They added $500 to the sticker for it!!

Thanks for the info! Is there any benefit to having a solid aluminum spacer vs. the steel spacer AS offers?

go with the AS alot of members as well as me have them and have no problems what so ever with them.

To everyone who is screaming "overpriced" you may want to do some research. For what they quoted him, that isnt that bad of a deal. For whatever reason, the big name (ex-Skyjacker) leveling kits are around $150-200. So $400 for the kit, install and alignment, that isnt a bad deal. Not to mention a dealer is doing it.

Now, that being said, on the ****** spectrum of things, the truck can be leveled for much cheaper. But you wont be using the parts and having the dealer install it.

Thats all Im saying.

ok then by the AS and then bring it to them to put it on there and your still saving money.. thats all im gonna say

If you have the $400, My advice will be to order the Bilstein shocks all around. Its a 100% better then the stock crap shocks that come with the truck and the Bilsteins can be ordered with the 2'' leveling shock. Mine are being installed right now in the front. Backs are easy to install.
