Failed NC State Insp.?!

Howdy Fellas! Well besides failing for having a 2% tint up front...They failed me for something that I have no idea about!?! I know this is a vague answer saying that the front left lower something is not safe?! It has to with the suspension and steering?!? My Girlfriend brought the truck in to get it inspected for me, and she had even less of a clue lol. What could cause me to fail inspection?! The truck doesn't handle any differently, no squeaks, no problems! What could this be any idea?!

The 97-03's are notorious for breaking sway bar links so you may want to check that out.

Why didn't they tell you what the problem was or did your girlfriend just forget?

I will most definitely check on the sway bar link...Is that a serious problem or should I be o.k. for a little while? As far as why I couldn't find out what really is wrong, I love my Girlfriend with all my heart, but you tell her Cold Air Intake, she thinks inside Air-Conditioning. She actually got upset w/ me because I did some PM on my truck (oil change, Diff Fluid change) and some other stuff (N-Fab pre-runner bar) KC lights, AF! CAI...and I hadn't seen her in 6 weeks, sooo lol she doesn't have any idea!

P.S. would that sway bar cause a truck to fail inspection?

Left Lower Balljoint?? I failed inspection once before in my '97 because they said I needed to have my balljoints replaced. I didn't really notice anything wrong or hear any squeaking, but when they picked up the front and wiggled the tire, I guess it had too much play.

My Girlfriend thinks its the ball-joints. I'm kinda bugging her while shes at work though so no 100% on that answer either...i don't want to bug her too much she is a Chef so they carry big knifes lol. How much do they cost to replace? How hard would it be to do? Thanks guys!
