Questions?

Hey guys, I am in the process of lifting my truck. I am trying to stay away from getting a Lift kit and I am instead looking at leveling kits. Someone I know recommended a kit made by a company called TRUXXX. The kit adds 3" to the front end and 1" in the rear. My goal is to get a 35" tire on my truck and I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of or used the TRUXXX kits. Another question is could I realistically add just a 2.5" leveling kit and be able to put 35" tires on my truck with no rubbing issues. Thanks in advance to any help.

I ran the 3" Truxxx kit for a few months. It seemed to be a little much. If I were to do a leveling kit again it would be the 2" lift Bilstein 5150's or King coilovers.

35's willl fit fine with any of the leveling options on stock rims.

Most leveling kits are basically the same. It's pretty hard to make a bad one. However, some are way, way overpriced. Most are around $100 or less. Most people agree that 2.5 inches is the practical limit for leveling kits. If you go taller, the ball joint angles become too extreme and they wear out quickly.
Also, you cannot stack two leveling kits for more lift. I doubt you could even get the front end bolted back together.
If you have a 4x4, you can fit up to a 35x12.50 tire with a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit if you use the oem wheels. If you go to a wider aftermarket wheel with different backspacing you will have to stick with 33's.

What year truck? It's easier to clear 35's on a 2004 and up than a 97-03 model.

I have a 2007 FX4. I actually plan on getting new rims and I have been looking at the BFG All Terains in a 35 inch. Is there a way to get wheels with different backspacing to fit on my truck.

Also, I have the questions of whether or not I would loose out at the fuel pump from leveling my truck to putting a lift on. I know I am going to loose a little going from factory tires and wheels to a 35 inch tire, but does the lift play much of a role other than aerodynamics? Thanks for your guys input and shared experiences.

Yep, the taller the truck the less aerodynamic it is. If you want to run 35's on aftermarket wheels with only a leveling kit you are gonna have to find one with virtually the same diminsions as the oem wheels (7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of backspacing). If you can find any 8 inch wide wheel with 5.5 inches of bs you will be fine.
