NOOB:Suspension lift ? 2wd

hey i have just purchased my f150 2wd 2004. i also have a set of pro comp 20" wheels on 35 inch tires.

i just recently ordered a fabtech 6" lift.

i have tried to do some research but being new to the site it seem like there are a ton of topics, some of the same topic.

am i going to need to get any other things to lift my truck..ex leveling kits special tools or parts to complete lift. i have a lift in my shop that we will be completing the lift on. i am more used to bagging and bodydrops then i am going up.

any help or guidance will be appriciated.

thanks

cody

Welcome You`ll get plenty of info here.

I Have the same year & model. I should of gotten 18`s or 20`s .

44,000 thats great, Mine has 108,000 and running strong.

Here`s one of the best looking 4x2 on 18`s 06

Here`s another mixed fab & procomp + body lift

Thanks for the compl, iment on the truck chaz

To the OP. I'd highly recommend that you switch out the block that comes with the Fabtech lift and replace it with a 5" block, otherwise the rear of your truck is going to be sagging. If you don't want to add a bigger block then you could go with an AAL.

Make sure you post up some pics when the lift is on.

Do a 1 1/2" leveling, for about 100 bucks, while you're in there.

Like wxscpo said Make sure you get a 5" rr block.

I have 2" AS & 1.5" rr shackle in addition to my 6" lift And it sits pretty level.

Pic`s in my gallery are with 6" Fab + 2"AS and 5" rr blocks.

Your friend is correct, you don't need to add anything. What you need to swap out though is the 2" block that comes with the 2WD Fabtech lifts with the 5" block or your rear end will be lower than the front. Now if you don't want to add the larger block you will have to add an AAL or you'll be sagging.

You don't need to add a leveling kit, but some folks do to give a little more lift. If you do add the leveling kit (I don't have one) then you will have to add an AAL on top of the 5" block or you'll sag.

Here's one place.

Are you ordering your kit yourself or having a shop order it for you? I ordered mine through the shop that did my lift (saved me on install costs) and just told them exactly what I wanted and they ordered it all.

well we have on off road shop in our area. the price they quoted me was like 2600 installed for a basic fabtech kit. that seemed like alot for me so i just ordered the kit for 1400 shipped they can put it on for 500 with an alignment.

i was going to do it myself but would rather just have them do it to since it will only take a day.

Wow that is quite a bit seeing how I got mine installed for less than $2k through a local offroad shop when I lived in Mississippi. For them to install a kit you don't order through them and do the alignment on top of it for only $500 is a real deal though.

What kind of wheels & tires are you going with?
