Because BILSTEIN IS THE ANSWER! Man, what an outstanding difference. I got them in the mail 2 days ago, and installed them yesterday afternoon with a buddy. They ride absolutely amazing, the truck feels brand new now. The stock shocks with 75,000km on them were trashed! I could compress them with 1 hand and they wouldn't spring back up once compressed at all. If anyone is thinking about shocks, get Bilsteins! End of story.

Hmm. My Kings were much better than the Bilsteins than I had before them.

Hey Sky.....

That's nice to hear :-) Planning to pick up the phone and order my Bilstein 5100's the same day my brand new F150 comes in.

BTW, that's what I hear about stock shocks vs. quality aftermarkets..... Stockers work 'okay' when brand new, but they go downhill really quickly. I don't expect to feel as much difference as you did, as my stockers will be brand new.... but the other reason for my 5100's, is that I'm getting the adjustable height model, to give me a 2" level in the front. Killing two birds with one stone.

Peace,
Fish

Chris you'll like the 5100s, I had them on my truck before I went with the Kings.

They are great for on the road but off the road they leave some to be desired. Probably because the truck weighs 6000 lbs.

Or maybe because you had 8" Rize spacers under them with heavy **** tires on.

Does bilstien make shocks that will fit a 4" lift like the rancho? I know they come with the RCD so they can fit 4.5"...

I had it on stock tires before and they still weren't that good offroad.

Yup, those would be the ones you'd want. It'd even give you a little bit more lift.

I have Bilstein 5150's on the rear of my truck. They are the 29.70/17.78 extended/collapsed length and love them.

I still have Rancho RS9000X's on the front though.

How are those Rancho shocks? With gas prices so high and me driving a lot of highway, im strongly considering the Rancho 4" lift with 33s. And i dont want excessive lift because 33s wont look great with more lift, so maybe bilstiens wouldnt work for me up front.

But i need quality shocks because my truck sees a lot of offroad use during hunting seasons and when at the ranch as well as county roads littered with potholes.

i dont reccomend rancho shocks to ANYONE!!!! mine blew after 4 months of trail and road use. i used the bilstein 5100's off roading the pissout of my truck and they never wore or slowed on the absorbtion. i would go through three sets of rancho's before one bilstein

They are good. They are adjustable so you can dial them in for whatever kind of driving you do.

I agree. People always bash Rancho but they are good shocks.

I luuuuv my rancho 5000's - don't do any off-roading to know how'd they hold up under those conditions but for the road, can't beat the price for the ride..
