FOA Coilovers

I am looking to get some FOA coilovers but I don't know what lengh and all that stuff. I have an 04 150 fx4 with a 6" procomp stage 1 lift, 3" PA body and running 37's. Is there anyone else that is running these on there 6" lift? Also could I get some suggestions on gears, why you personally would go with that particlular ratio and what your use is if you have the same set up.
Thanks in advance,
Eric

FOA? Regardless you'd buy them for the length of it being a 6" lift. Most mfgs like King and Sway-A-Way make coilovers for the 6" lifts so contact them to find out the length.

As far as gear goes it's dependent on tire size which you didn't mention. I'd go with 4.88s without a doubt considering you're probably running a tire bigger than 35s. The general rule of thumb is 35s equal 4.56s and anything bigger is going to be 4.88s. I ran 4.88s and 37s, I wish I had more gear. However they don't make anything bigger than it for the 8.8 reverse cut front differential.

I couldn't think of what you meant by FOA. I even asked but I guess you missed that so I decided to do some research. Are you talking about Found Offroad Shock Absorbers? I've heard some bad things about them ... Poor quality control for the most part.

Thump,
Sorry I must have missed that, that is what I was looking at. I guess that sounds about right though....low price most of time = poor product. I will try and post some pics of my current set up.

These are great coilovers for the price. They are slowly making there way out to the dezert scene. Email them with any questions. They are very helpful and im sure could point you in the right direction.

if you order coilovers, your body lift wont matter, just want to get that out of the way. make sure you order coilovers for a 6" lift with an option of cranking them up 2more inches. i use to have the same setup that you have on my old truck.

on gears, go with 4.88's

Well, it's possible the guy that had problems that I saw was doing something wrong or it was a bad apple. EBROTEN seems to know his stuff when it comes to pre-runners so if he says they are holding up in the offroad scene, I'd trust it. Of course, my suggestion is to go to a prerunner or offroad forum and post up to get some opinions on them.

FOA is out of las vegas. from what ive heard they have pretty good products. robby at woolworth motorsports made an FOA prerunner using a camburg long travel and FOA shocks and coilovers. i wanna get them for my 08 when i put my 6" on. you will probably have to fab an extended shock mount to run them though

The nerve of some people! Trying to keep the FOA discussion in the FOA thread. Who in the world would want to make searching easier!
