Question Drop shackles

I am interested in dropping/leveling my truck. Its a 01 Scab 2wd. i have a few questions when it comes to drop shackles.

1)Buy new or O.K. to buy used?

2)Which brand?? JDM, DJM, Springtech(never heard of them), or any others??

some of the guys say that they improve mpg, but im not that dumb.

any feedback/input is greatly appreciated guys.

Thanks!

Well bro I did it to mine and its a 00 scab. The Ford performance catalog shows that the lowering kit for our trucks, is manufactured by Ground Force. I put the ground force shackles on mine and I love the look and stance it gave me, also lets you haul a little more a$$ around corners cause it takes away some of the roll. youll love the setup.

I hate to tell you, but lowering does improve gas mileage slightly. It is thought there is less air turbulence(resistance). Did on mine.

thanks. it was fun, but too much dang walking. lol

yea thats what i figured bluejay, was that it cut down on the amount of air flowing around and under your truck, since it was closer to the ground.

well thanks for the help, but this will more than likely be a project for a later date, but i will keep these tips in mind.

appreciate guys! if we were in europe id buy ya a couple of bruskies, but i still have a few more years here.
