Leveling kit?

hope this is the right section for this topic:o

what exactly is a leveling kit..what is its purpose?
and how do you know how much of one to put on?

obviously by the name it levels out your truck..i've noticed that the front end on a stock truck is lower than the rear yes?

RIght. There are two types. One lifts the front, the other lowers the rear. Leveling kits for the rear are usually lowering shackles. The ones that lift the front of your truck are basically a spacer. How much you lift or lower can easily be determined by measuring the front and rear ride heights. Leveling kits are sold by how much height they add or subtract.

thats what i thought but i wasnt positive.
i'd never heard of a leveling kit until this forum
i'd really like to raise my front

I'd suggest the Autospring kit. They are well made and have a decent price. Just don't go over 2.5 inches or you will have severly increased ball joint wear.
