4.6, 37x13.50 Toyo MT, 4.88 I'm just going by the instant mpg guage on my gryphon. 13mpg on flat hwy. In town I've had it read as low as 2mpg accelerating from a stoplight.

I honestly don't figure my mileage, would just make me feel bad, I just gas it up and go.

Exactly.

Trust me i aint no tree hugging hippy, bud. i drive a liked truck 07 screw 35's my gas sucks, but its my fault , ford didnt sell it to me that way. But in all seriousness, besides trying to gain more mpg, what can we do about the gas? nothing, absolutely nothing. i think some people dont think these things through before buying 35's + . but if you want your truck to be the most effiecent it can be, then you shouldn't be on 35's. my opinion is, if you are so worried about gas, then you shouldnt drive your truck or should have thought about that before you bit the bullet. now i know some people had theirs lifted years and years ago, but history repeats itself, price has been going up on everything, and i know our wage hasnt gone up, well some havent, but i guess that's just life. sucks it eitherway.

Don't worry man, I'm not the OP, nor am i worried about my own MPG's. Its FAR from my DD and only drive it for fun, or for towing now. I have very effecient cars as "back ups" and DD duty.

My truck is an 04, since I bought it, gas has nearly doubled. That wouldn't be history repeating itself, thats a FIRST.

I felt the lift and bigger tires would help get me to some of the places I go. Heck, I have STILL scraped my underside and torn some chit up ! But the factory stance is FAR too low, and just looks wierd IMO.

I didn't have to think about gas prices before i lifted my truck, because it was not yet becoming an issue, a fill up was a very reasonable price, and I was fine with it. Since then, prices have SHOT up in record time, they are at an all time high. Living over in the most expensive area in the US doesn't help much. Gas is nearing $5 a gallon !!

I already have spent the money to lift it, it sits where I like. Why can't I also look for ways to make it more effecient ? Maybe save me a couple hundred per fill up !

I guess the problem I have (other then a ****ty day, so sorry for my little rant) would be when someone with a lifted truck asks for help getting more MPG's and everyone comes on bashing them saying "Your lifted, suck it up, your choice, etc etc etc" The guy is just lookin for some tips...

and its not the worst idea to keep track of your MPG's, helps keep an eye on your internals and vehicle's performance. Just to throw it out there.

Its the internet, people like to bash no matter what the question. In a perfect world a person would come to a forum, ask for help, and get it without a bunch of people throwing out random stupid comments.

I honestly see nothing wrong with people trying to make their setup the most efficient possible, no matter what setup that be (lift/tires/gears/etc). Thats just smart in my book.

I as well luck out with my truck not being my only vehicle. A motorcycle that gets 65mpg helps even things out.

Nope, havin two bikes is overkill, but its a hobby just like our trucks. I enjoy driving my truck, but I enjoy riding much much more. Insurance is actually cheap though. Only paying 97/month for full coverage on the truck and two bikes.

but...a few trips at 65mpg compared to 10mpg quickly adds up some savings.

yeah true, i been considering a bike for to work only purposes. cant do it, cant shell out the money for insurance (im 21), purchase of the bike and justify it as mileage saving or gas savings... im happy with a 28.5 mpg v6 ford probe, and my monsterous 13 mpg truck that gets up and moves.

On my latest trip 3hrs about 200 miles I averaged about 9mpg. Im on 37s without gears and the windows were down (incase ur factoring that in). Thats without a tuner or exhaust or anything just a CAI. So im sure you can pick up a few extra miles with some add ons thats for sure.

oh yeah thats on a Nitto Extreme mudds as well.

heres another way to look at gas prices going up and cost to fill up our trucks.

fill up as much as possible now so you can say you got a good deal when gas is 4.50-5 a gallon.

I get 13 highway and 13 city...37" Kumho's on 24's with 4.88's not bad considering i have the one of the heaviest wheel combo's under 40" tires...I'm not concerned about the gas prices as much as the tire cost when a set of tires cost 2,400. But I'm waiting to see if Yamaha will come out with a R250. Europe has a R125 which isn't enough power, but they look just as bad *** as the R6 bike. An R250 would be perfect for a young person because it's less than half the CC's of a 600cc bike which means, less insurance and better fuel efficiency. You might want to look into getting one if you're worried about gas prices.
