5.5" Lift on front
I know "use search" but ive scoured these threads for weeks looking for viable solutions to what im looking for. essentially what im trying to gain is roughly 5.5" lift up front and 3" in back on 05 2wd screw. ive got the rear figured out, blocks or AAL, no prob. the front i want to raise level with the rear, which would then be about 5.5" higher if i went that route. from my understanding going with rancho's QL 2.5" strut (or equivalent) with a spacer/level kit would put too much stress on the ball joints. i thought maybe combine a 3" lift spindle with the rancho QL but i hear something about longer control arms, and now that i think of it i dont know if the rancho kit would even fit. i would love to go with a 6" fabtech but at work i have to park in a parking structure and i wouldnt fit. there is no way around the parking situation so i'd have to keep the lift to a minimum, and i kinda think 3" is already stretching it. anyone have (safe and reliable) ideas on obtaining the 5" - 5.5" lift on front? im new to this stuff, only had the truck for 6 months. ive done extensive research but im out of ideas. also if you post, could you (if not too much trouble) mention the costs involved (part/labor). any reply is much appreciated.
btw im a quick learner and you dont have to tell me something twice. i'd love to hear what you guys have to say... |
No one makes lift spindles for your truck. I'd suggest a 3 inch Performance Accessories body lift and a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit up front.

Ok. Kinda sucks. Thanx for the reply btw. Well I wasn't really interested in goin the body lift route, don't think it fits my application. I don't want to turn this to a thread of pro/cons of body lift but I've heard/read enough to know its not for me. I just really didn't wanna spend 1200_1500 for a 4" kit for that money I'd rather go 6". Are there ANY other options out there for 2wd? There's gotta be somethin....

your only options are this;
body lift leveling kit 4 or 6" suspension kit thats is the only way to lift the truck |
check with RCD. they make a 5". just not sure if the app fits your truck. i know it doesnt fit my AWD expy. email them and ask them. they are pretty quick with a response.

actually i came across something i think im looking for. made by doetsch its a 6"front/3" rear lift. im thinking it will be slightly higher in the front maybe .5-1" higher... hmm. anyways here's the link for anyone else's input or for someone else who is in a situation like me where your options for lift are limited by either parts or where you park your truck.
http://www.doetsch-shocks.com/19.asp "Our 04’ and up F150 2WD kit 6/3 lift, comes with front and rear drop down brackets for the lower control arms, the stock Coil-Over unit is re-located down using a Double Plated Tubing Spacer. The steering and upper arm is kept in a neutral position using a new Ductile Machined Spindle. Rear Strut bars add strength to the lower brackets. This kit comes complete with shocks and there is no cutting or welding. This truck is equipped with 35x12.50 BF Goodrich Tires (LT 315/70R17) and American Racing “Mojave” Wheels 17x8 with 4 1/2” Backspacing. *Complete Front Coil-Over System available PT# 63078" |
Keep in mind the other 6 inch lifts for 4x2's also lift the front 6 inches and the rear about 3 so the truck will sit level.

Ok thx for ur input. But are you sayin all, some or majority of the 6" kits are this fashion for 2wd? Since that's the case looks like ill be going 6" and 37s on my current 22s
|
all 6" kits lift the truck 6" in the front and 3 in the rear

there is no way you can clear 37's with only a 6" lift on a 2wd.
|
ya you can add a 2" leveling kit on top of the fabtech kit or you can put on a 3" body lift
