Lightbulb FX4 Offroad Suspension

I have an 07 F-150 FX4 Supercrew (7200GVW) and am wondering what exactly the upgraded offrad suspension provides for benefits over the stock F150? Are these part of the 7200 GVW payload package or is this a seperate option the truck came with?

Any knowledge you have would be great!

The FX4 off road package is simply a cosmetic change in the trucks styling. Comes standard with LS rear and 3.73 gears. Also standard is the 5.4 3V engine. Comes with nice captain's chair, some "splash" plates (skid plates... but only will protect you from some water ! hahaha) and some other trim options. They say their shocks are also valved different, but I didn't feel that much of a difference.

The 7,200 GVW your refferring to sounds like the HD (Heavy Duty package... not Harley). This means you would have 7 lug rims vs. the standard 6 lug. Your capacity for hauling goes up, but I am not sure on the actual numbers. I'll try and dig it up for you.

So yes, basically those are two packages being combined.

Hey thanks for the info. I definitly don't have the HD package as i have 3.73 gears and 6 lug wheels but the GVW on my truck is rated at 7200 lbs? Is this because the truck weighs more to begin with (5.4/6.5' box/Supercrew)?

Not too sure, these trucks are pretty heavy though ! I have the supercab with the 4.6L and mine is rated at right around 7,000 or so.

7200lbs is basically the norm for these trucks. The heavy duty package is 8200lbs. That is the one with 7 lug axles etc.
As stated the FX4 model is basically cosmetics and options.
