Somthing hitting the floor?

I wasn't sure where to post this but hopefully I got it right.

Just today I was driving around town and i started to hear this light popping like a rock was hitting the floor right under me. Then over the next hour or so of running errands it started to get worse. It now sounds like there is a hammer hitting the floor boards.

It only does this when i turn left or accelerate at a slight angle. I did a search and found out this is one of the symptoms of a bad ball joint? Is there anyway to find out if the ball joint is bad without jacking the truck up?

My truck is a 2005 4.6L Supercab with 2.5" leveling kit and 285/70/17s on OEM rims

Thanks!!

Ok I've figured out what the noise is, Its the upper control arm hitting the spring... WTF... Anyone know what could cause this?

Do you have a leveling kit? That is the reason the new Autospring leveling kits are offset. Supposedly the new design prevents this.

yeah they'll clear but just don't hit any bumps. I would by the new spacer if possible.

While the noise is irritating, it's not gonna hurt anything.
