2.5" AS w/control arm probs? Can I do 3"

Just installed a 2.5" AS kit on a 2005 F150 4x4 SCab HD (8200GVW 7lug) that had a TON of rake and it almost sits level (front still just a hair lower). I noticed over the past few weeks that I have some gouge marks in the coating of the coils on both sides. it appears the upper control arm may be making slight contact with the coils. Any one else have this problem? I want to go to a full 3" lift with either a 3" leveling kit or the addition of Bilstein adjustable height shocks, but I'm wondering now about geometry. Any one have similar issue or resolutions?

I would stay away from a 3" leveling kit. To much! I have a 2.5 and haven't had any issues for 2 years now. Did you get the offset kit? Check with AutoSpring. Also? What size tire and wheel are you running??

I have the same truck (XL trim). If you level it Its going to sage alot when you load it down. When i load my truck I us up the hole 3"sf rake! I also have done alot of reading on the site and everyone says not to go more then the 2.5 kit because of the ball joint angel's!

Called Autospring and they state that this has been known to happen from time to time. Yes I got the offset kit, but they think the 8200GVW truck has thicker coils thus making more contact. Tire size is stock, 245/70/17 on stock wheels

I was just going to say it probably has to do with being the 8200# payload.
I have the same truck '04 lariat. I thought I read some where you couldn't even ad a leveler kit to these.
Got any cool wheels on yours? I can't find anything I like so I put wheelskins on mine for now.

My 05 has the same problem and i have the standard 6 lug. The UCA will rub the spring slightly but it shouldnt cause any long term problems.

Just got my 2" as in and got 2.5" out of it I have not had any problems with the uca hiting, just when you jack the truck up. Also instaled 1.5" spring teck shackle in the rear. I am not happy with it because I only gained 1"

I would not consider lifting it anymore. Your ball joint angles will be horrible.
