Clearing 35's
Clearing 35's
So Im taking my lift off and want to run my 35's out, is a 2 inch kit enough to clear my 35's I know its all on back spacing and ive got I think its a nine inch wheel with 5.5 BS after looking around it seems that wheel would have the best luck at clearing them but is two inch enough. I ask for two reasons back before I had my lift I had and AS and bilsteins, but with 2.5 inchs of lift my UCA would hit on my spring at full droop making that clunking noise. I also want to know because I want to get the bilsteins again but they only have 2 inch setting, if 2 inches isnt enough Im going to go stock shocks and an AS, i dont want to put a lot into this like bilsteins and AS because I hope to sell soon just want to clear my 35s for now, let me hear your thoughts. I hope 2 inch will clear because I hated that 2.5 inch spacer clunk
So a 2 inch will clear it, my wheels are very close to stock fitment wise, I had the off set design and mine still hit. have they come out with a better model in the last year or so?? I will probably just go with the bilsteins then that way I can just go with the 2 inch lift
what do you think I need 2.5? right now ive got a ton of room to the point that I think it looks a little goofy now?? even with my wide 325 60 18s and only 2 inches of lift I never rubbed turing anyway or backing up I figured my slightly under sized half worn out 35s should fit maybe a little rub? so you think 2.0 has no chance?

in all honesty Im just sorta tired of climbing into my truck and not being able to park anywhere Im just over the lifted truck, and Im hoping it will help my gas mileage a little bit. IDK Ive had some dreams and seen some crazy lifted truck wrecks and the more I think, I think they should be out lawed, I pull up next to my sisters car all the time and think what would happen it I hit her in her car. I just dont want to be part of that lifted truck group anymore. I digress I dont want that argument I just want to clear my 35s tell I sell my truck
OEMs are long gone another guy i saw has 34.5 inch tires on after market 20's IDK im just going to get bilsteins and try it if nothing else AS 2.5 on top (putting the bilsteins back to no lift of corse) I was hoping someone would be deff they would fit
i seriously doubt youll be able to fit 35's with aftermarket wheels with only 2" as... i have a friend with 35 bfg's on his factory 20's with a 2.5"as and his rub at full lock... i can only imagine how bad yours are gonna rub.. i wouldnt do it..
(your really not going to be able to park anywhere now)
only other option i see are maybe a 3" level kit(not wise) or a 4" Rancho(wise)

my tires are only 34.7 new and they are half worn, I dont get it I see people all the time with 35s and aftermarket wheels? Are you guys just saying I need the 2.5 lift or are you guys saying it wont clear no matter what?
So much depends on the wheel. Lots of people are running 35x12.50's with 2 and 2.5 inch leveling kits by using the oem 7.5 inch wide wheels with 5.5 inches of backspacing. Paw Paw is running 35's on aftermarket wheels, but I believe his wheels are 17x8's with 5.5 inches of bs, which means they only stick out 1/2 inch farther than the stock wheels. Your 9 inch wide wheels with 5.5 inches of bs are gonna stick out 1.5 inches farther than stock. You may be able to fit them, but I think you are gonna have some serious rubbing. You can try it and if they don't work it would be easy to find a set of oem wheels.
