Question rancho lift questions

people with rancho lifts for new body f150s i was reading my instructions today for the installation and i saw that i have to cut??, i thought this was a bolt on kit with no cutting. so if any of you guys put this kit on did you have to cut, or not? thanks

Yes, you have to cut a small piece off of the stock subframe in order to fit the new one. I believe every aftermarket suspension lift requires it.

Yes you do have to trim the drivers side crossmemeber bracket otherwise the brackets wont fit it. Skyjacker does make a "no cut" kit, but its pricey and only available in the 6" kit. if you plan ever to put it back to stock, just keep the piece you cut off, it can always be welded back on. i hope to put my rancho on this weekend, if it ever stops raining

I was a little nervous about cutting that piece also, but as stated just about every kit does. Its needed to drop the front differential. The skyjacker kit is the first I've heard that doesn't require cutting. Save the piece that is cut off because it wouldn't be a big deal to have it welded back on if you wanted to go back to stock. Its worth the cut!

i cant decide if i wanna throw some 35's on my stock 20's or what i think im gonna do is get the american racing machined trench's 17x8 and wrap them in the kumho muds or mickey thompson atz's. they kinda look like a gunner knock off, i wanna run wide wheels but you know how winter and fat tires go
