BDS Level kit

BDS..
From their website..
Quote "This system come with both a pre-load and top spacer. The pre-load spacer helps counter act the additional weight of the increased tire size, so you won't sacrifice ride quality. The top spacer is designed to maximize lift and unlike many other spacer kits, the coil spring will not contact the upper a-arm at full droop. If you want to level your F150, this is the system for you!"

Talked to somebody at BDS and they said the reason for the preload is better for putting on a larger tire.

Vs the Autospring which doesnt need the preload.

I would think that with BDS in the suspension business they know what they are doing.

How much is it ?

The AS is a pretty inexpensive way to lift without sacrificing ride quality and so far no premature wear.

Well the website says, 135.25. But I may have a deal coming thru, not sure yet. I just dont know about the spring compression thing. It kinda makes sense the way they explained it. But then again they want to make a sale, the our stuff is better than the other guys.., know what i mean.

It's just a gimmic. Daystar and Skyjacker have both redesigned their leveling kits to copy Autospring.

That is true. And when you look at some of the "johnny come lately" leveling kits they all look like a copy of Autospring. I'd stick to what is proven and field tested.

You may be right, but with BDS as a suspension company im sure they have done testing on their product.
Im not saying one is better than the other, Im just trying to understand the concept of having the additional preload spacer vs not having one.

Detailed instructions here on how they are installed...
http://www.bds-suspension.com/php/Inst_Srch.php
then type in 013200 and search

Was at the Dealership tonight, talked to a mechanic. Said they put BDS lift kits on trucks all the time, but have only done a few of the Level kits. Said he has had customers that have them installed but the range from the daystars to aluminum to just plastic pucks.
Said if I wanted the bds one installed they would do it and it would not affect my warranty any. $290 to install includes the re-alignment of the front end.

That sounds like a good deal. They basically have to do a leveling kit twice while they have the shocks out.

The kit looks like a 1" spacer and 1" of preloading the springs. I'm no suspension expert but they probably found the right spring rate( which gained them 1") and than added a spacer for lextra lift..

BDS is a great company. Very dealer oriented.
