why does it ride soooooooooo rough?

Ive had quite a few trucks in the last 6 years or so, everything from nissan-toyota-chevy-dodge and now ford. My ford is by the far the best looking truck but also the worst ride of any of the trucks ive had before! Is there something wrong with it? I have 35" mt's which I know doesnt help also a 2.5" leveling kit which everyone says doesnt effect the ride; 88,000 miles. After the lift, I never got it aligned, dont know if that will do anything(doubt it). Anyone else find it very rough riding. What can I do to help it? If this is normal I hate to say it but I would never buy ford again. Its that bad.

i would get it aligned, that might help a bit. also you do have an AAL? that can make the truck ride like a tank. if you do i would consider a firestore airbag setup to help with the ride.

you could have possibly lost a wheel wieght. Your tires might not be balanced right. Take it back to where they balanced them and have it redone just to see. if that doesnt work go get it aligned, somethings got to give!

Probably the tires, my truck rides great on my 35" BFG AT's. On my Toyo AT's I get a rough ride. Tires and the amount of air in them play's a big part in ride quality.

The other thing to consider is that you went from a p-metric tire to probably a load range E tire that is a lot stiffer tire than what comes on these trucks stock. Also one other thing to think about are the shocks worn out on the truck? This will also cause the truck to ride a little harsh.

I would say your tires are probably not balanced. These f150 ride soooo smooth stock, so it has to be something with your setup.

I bet thats your answer right there.

if not you could have a bad belt in a tire that will make it rough.

Great looking out dsq3973

What is your definition of "riding rough"?

I have to say, the general ride quality itself, as in, the softness of the suspension wouldn't be affected by alignment, or loosing wheel weights, but the fact you didn't get an alignment after a lift is just stupid. You're going to ruin your expensive tires in no time.

As said, the tires are rated for more weight, so short of running a low PSI and bombing your mileage, there's nothing you can do.

If you have spacers, it will also stiffin up the front suspension a little bit as well, making bumps more noticeable.

Lost wheel weights or out of round tires or rims will cause a vibration, not cause a loss of a plush ride.

I would sum it up to your lift. My f150 has a great ride, even with higher psi in the tires for economy and stiffer ride, that i like.
