A S level kit

I see lots of posts which reference AS level kit. I did a forum search and Google search and cannot find " A.S." Is this an abbreviation or a company. I thought maybe Air Shock?? Anyway, I do want to level my 06 FX4 and need help as far as what to go with? Just want a 2.5 in. level no lift. What is the "best" kit to get? I see reference to leveling keys as well as aluminum blocks. Any help is appreciated. My goal is to level the truck and than go for some nice XD Monsters with 33 Nittos. BTW I have 18 in stock rims now should I stick with 18 or go to 20. I dont want the tires to look too small when the truck is leveled (Dont want lots of air between fender and tire

Thanks for the help

AS is Autospring. I would go with a AS 2.5" kit. That is what I am running. I to will be running 33 Nitto TG's with KMC Monsters on 20's. Here is a link to Autosprings site:

I had mine installed in about 2 hours? You will also have to have your truck re-aligned. As for cost? Each place is so different. That's hard to say. Good luck and be sure to post some pics when you get it done. Check out my gallery. I have plenty of pics!

A quality installation from a repuatable shop with an alignment should be right around $200, I had a rear add a leaf installed at the same time and the total bill was around $250. Good luck.

drjay,
I've had both the 2.5 and 2 inch spacers. In both cases, I thought the nose looked too high and there was more "air" above the front tire than the rear, which doesn't look right on these trucks with their body lines. Check it for yourself, but I would suggest getting an add-a-leaf kit to go with the level.

Once you have your alignment, you'll be all set. These minor front and rear lifts like dog'em and I have really make a big difference over stock and won't break the bank. Plus, they ride like stock. At least mine does.

Yes, pics when done!

i would assume that.i have heard others that also got 2.5 from a 2 inch spacer.but you can do the 1.5 aal and it looks great.i did both at the same time.mind you i do have a 2wd.i did the install and it wasnt bad.if you can do it yourself you can save some money and you will pay a shop for an alignment which is a toe adjustment and you will be set.i am doing a 6 inch lift but funds are short and i grew tired of looking at these parts in my workshop so i put them on.i did the install with air tools and a rack and it took me a couple hours.

Depends where you measure (before and after).

I did my 2" and got over 3" at the front tow hooks, where the ground clearance is the issue. As for fenderwell clearance, measuring straight above the center of the wheel is best. I did not do this, so I have no data for that.

Rest assured, it'll look and feel WAY better/bigger than stock, especially if you get the proper tires (34-35" IMO).

Well ive been measuring at center of the wheel to the center of the wheel well lip. I get anywhere from 2 to 2.5 diff depending on where its parked and fuel in the tank. Havent measured the bumper.
Didnt going with the 2 inch spacer and then add a leaf basically just put you back at factory rake?

No, not back to factory rake. Just a little more level, perfect IMO. The headlights weren't pointing too low (OEM) or too high (spacer only). I left them at OEM specs and now they're just right. I never get brighted and I don't have to turn on brights just to see anything at night.

I think it gave it just the right stance, front to rear, in relation to the body/fender/bumper lines of these trucks. Some don't agree, but we're all just a bit different in our tastes.

Plus, for me, it helped with functionality a bit. I tow and haul loads around, and an extra leaf is always welcome.
