OEM Shocks

Who makes Ford shocks? Gabriel, Monroe? I'm going to replace the shocks on my '04 and want the same ride as the OEM shocks (not too stiff), however, I want the replacements to last longer than the originals. I don't want "adjustable" shocks and I'm not paying 90 bucks per shock! Just a quality shock with good ride is all I'm looking for.

Not sure who makes them for Ford, but if you do want the OEM ones again here is the price (need vin to be 100% sure)

front $49.72 ea

rear $36.25 ea

shipping will default to 11% of order but really depends where you are, so $20ish might do it.

just had my 99' F150 Lariat shocks replaced (71k miles) with Monroe Sensa-trac and kept the original soft ride!!!
PepBoys had a special buy 4 Monroe's and the install is "FREE".
Couldn't believe it so had them all replaced.
Rides better than new.

Motocraft shocks are manufactured by Tenneco (spelling?) Automostive. They also manufacture Rancho shocks and I think Monroe. As for a replacement, I'd sugest the Rancho or Bilstiens.

Thanks for the info. fellas. I'd like to put Ranchos or Bilstiens on the truck but I can't afford the cost (I did consider it tho!). Monroe's got "buy 3 get the 4th free" this month so I'm gonna do what "Ragu" did and get the Sensa-Tracs. Sounds like a good replacement. Replacement looks like a simple job on an '04 Heritage. If anybody knows of any problems with the actual work, please let me know...

Thanks again guys,

CB

Bilsteins can be had for less than 60 bucks a shock. Well worth it in my opinion for the lifetime warranty and ride quality. Almost anything is better than stock.

Where are you finding those prices for Bilsteins? Best I have found is eshock.com at 67 each and free shipping.

I have an F250 and searching for shocks now...

Keep looking. I paid $54.95 each but now that I think about it it was a couple years ago.
