Drum to Disk Conversion.

Hello all,

As the title says I am cursed with rear drum brakes. I was wondering what parts do I need to convert to rear disk?

Thanks for any and all info.

It is a 1999 2wd regular car step side 4.6 V8 Automatic. It has 3.55 gears and an open differential, and thats about all I know about the drive train.

Would it just be easier to buy a rear end with disk from a junk yard? Instead of locating the rear calipers and brackets etc?

Email me SERIOUSLY!!!

I have a 97 F150 with drums, and I bought an expedition to do a brake swap with as well as many other parts. The backing plates of the disk setup I took off the rear does not match the axle plate. If it matches yours, We can make a deal on it. I have the backing plates, emergency brakes on the plates with emergency brake cables, rotors and calipers. There are three axle backing plate bolt patterns.
One is Big Ford old= 3.150 center circle diameter,
with bolt pattern of 2.375"x3.5"
another is, Big Ford newer= 3.150.......
bolt pattern of 2.0"x3.562"
the third is= 2.56...............
bolt pattern 1.68" top to bottom
3.410"top and 3.076"bott.

I believe I have Big old. It was a 98 Expedition.

Please PM me

I tried to pm you but I think I am too new to the site to do so.

I would love to see if we can do that, but how can I find out what I have? Would the axle code tell me?
