6" to 8" lift

Alright guys, so I've looked at this site quite a few times in the past but never registered and decided that today would be the day to take the plunge. I was wondering what are the different ways you can go from 6" of lift to 8". I currently have a 2006 f150 w a 6" lift and 35" toyos but I want to go bigger. I know for sure that I would like 37s (most likely toyo again) and I also know that if I do not lift I will have rubbing problems. So please feel free to post away at possible solutions (including prices if you would be so kind) and other than that, welcome me to the site!

welcome, post pics. What kind of lift is it? you might be able to fit 37s without going to an 8inch. what kind of rims do you have and whats the backspacing on them. a rize or cst 8inch will cost you around $3-4k out the door depending on location and what options you get with the lift.

add a body lift and call it done. then you dont have any of that spacer crap and horible angles. just my opinion.

Yeah, what lift do you have? Do you have adjustable coilovers?

I will post pictures tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure ive got a 6" full traction suspension lift. As far as backspacing goes, I've heard of the term before but dont know exactly. my wheels can be found here http://eastcoasttires.com/wheelbrand...Chrome-Finish/ and I know they're 18s but thats pretty much it. Oh yeah I forgot that they've got 6 bolts. If I were to do the 3" body lift, I'd be getting new toyos and new rims at the same time, following that up by trying to sell these toyos and diamos that I'll be taking off. I know that I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to all of the teminology and what everything means, but I am trying to learn as much as I can so I can understand more.

adjustable coilovers? um how would I be able to figure that out? I bought the truck already lifted and all so I'm not sure.

Sweet truck! That lift (Pro Comp?) uses the oem coilover shocks with a 6 inch spacer. You could replace that with a set of adjustable coilover shocks and crank up the preload for another inch or two of lift. If cost is an issue, you could replace the oem coilover shocks with a set of adjustable Bilstien shocks and retain the lifts 6 inch spacer.

Right on Wandell

I have the Procomp Stage I lift (w/spacer) and I bought some adjustable coilovers to replace the spacer I had them cranked alittle not much though they could still go up more but I didnt want to go up all the way. Those might be your best bet although they can be alittle pricey. Couple more pics in my gallery

Thanks. I've seen a lot of people's truck and them mentioning their different shock setups. Basically I've been looking through pages and pages of forum threads and trying to figure out, from picture and description, what everything means. I know that I want to run some 37s, it's all just a matter of figuring out how I should lift/raise the truck to be able to fit them. I dont think I'll be paying the big bucks to go with a complete 8" lift. So far I understand that my other options then would be to either go with a body lift or put some new adjustable shocks on it and "crank em"? (please let me know if I am incorrect). Wandell, I see now what you are talking about with the oem coilover shock and the 6 inch spacer. Seems like I am learning a lot from this forum and I am most certainly appretiative.

On a side note, you can see my feet in two of the pictures lol. Anyone else notice what I'm talkin about?

just keep this in mind. some ppl may disagree with me but.... if you do coilovers or something similar you will be sitting nose high 2" and also need to lift the rear. if you do a bodylift you will gain 3" evenly and keep your factory steering/suspension geometry.
