a grinding noise by front hub??????

I just got done installing my 2.5" leveling kit and apparantly when my spindle was released down it pulled what looks like 2 vacum lines made togather (one is a little larger than the other) loose and it plugs in behind the caliper or hub onto 2 little prongs..When I took off before I realized it was off my front hub, brake or something made a grinding noise but when I plugged it back in it quit.....Whats up with that???? Im stumped

sounds like those are the vaccum hoses to lock the hub for 4wd. When there is no vaccum your hub locks making the grinding noise.

I installed the 2.5 leveling kit and I did the exact same thing. Right side only. I drove away to hear a grinding. I got under to re-inspect my work and found the vacuum lines unhooked just like you did. Reinstalled and the noise was gone. Auto locking hubs I believe are engaged by vacuum lines.

HI

I certainly dont want to steal a thread, however, I may have similar grinding noises. Ironically I have no noise in 4wheel only in 2 wheel, Is this similar?
