Steering Problem

Hi All
This is my first thread I am so glad I have found this amazing site. Please help!!!!
I am have major steering issues with my 2004 f150 crewcab. When you turn the wheel is very hard to turn and does not return to normal positon. You must force it back. I have been told it is the rack and pinion steering. What do you guys think? Where can I get rack and pinion? Can I replace this system myself? Please advise.

Pump

My first guess would be your power steering pump is bad. Check the fluid in the reservoir to see if there is fluid in it, and if so, is it a dark cloudy color.
