Backspacing Q

I have seen this truck at a local dealership and I hate the way that the tires stick out so far. I would like a 325/60/20 on 10" rims but not if it has to look like this. Is the backspacing the reason for the tires sticking out so far or is it the 10" rim. Here are some pics to show what im talking about.

He probaably has a 5 inch B/S. Drop it down to a 4.5 inch and just go with a 12.50 tire, then you should get the look you're after.

Actually, that's backwards. The larger the number for backspacing, the closer to the center of the truck the wheels will be. My wheels stick out a little further than I would like, but not enough to cough up the cash for new ones (yet anyway). I have 4.56" of BS, but I could get away with 5.5 and that would bring them 1" farther into the wheel well. a 9" rim would make that 1.5" further in. You just have to be careful not to get too much BS because then you will rub. I believe that a 9" wide rim with 6.0" of backspacing would put you right where you want to be. (if you are running 20" rims)

Yep, that is caused by a wide wheel with a shallow backspacing. I'd suggest an 18x9 wheel with 5 to 6 inches of backspacing.
