'85 f150 tired leafs

need to change my leaf springs. what is the trick to lining up the bolt holes when installing new leafs? how many leafs did the truck originally come with? i have an '85 1/2 ton with only 2 leafs. plan on loading her up with wood, dirt, and kids toys...not all at once

It definitely comes with more than 2 leaves unless you're not counting your overload (fat bottom spring). Call your local ford dealership, give them your vin and ask for the rear leaf spring part number and I can tell you what springs you are supposed to have on there as far as number of leaves and spring capacity.
