PB Blaster, denatured alcohol, TRIKE, phosphoric acid.....All will work, but PB blaster is probably the safest at preserving the finish around the work area.

If you are looking to srtip down to bare metal, try the phosphoric acid - used to etch concrete - but be careful not to let it sit over a day or it starts to dissolve the metal.

One last trick I heard about was using a slow trickle battery charger, a bar of clean steel, and a baking powder/water solution. Saw it on Trucks! No idea if it works or not though.

Autozone, Kragen, etc. They have a few other products but PB Blaster should work the best. It is like wd-40 but much better. There are certain things you don't want to get overspray on, but just read the can and you'll be fine.

also, when you got the wrench on the bolt, do a quick rasp with a hammer in the loose direction.... that's worked more than once...just be careful and don't hurt yourself

When im using a ratchet on tough bolts, I usually stick a hollow steel tube around the handle for more leverage.Always gets the job done, but might not be helpful in small areas. Then then impact gun comes in...
