Need susp. advice for '99 4X2

1999 F150 4X2 5.4
(still using the factory installed shocks)

I was recently given a pop-up camper that slides into the bed of my truck. When I tried it out last weekend, the *** end of the truck sagged a little bit, which wasn't too bad, but after I hitched up my boat, it got really bad. I'm looking for something to raise up and level the truck like Hijackers or an airbag kit.

Can you guys offer up some tips, advice, do's and don'ts, brands to buy or stay away from, where to buy, etc?

Marshall

An airbag setup would be your best bet.

Airbags on the rear only, or all around?

Anyone else wanna chime in here?

You can get a add a leaf that will raise the back end or just go with the firestone air
bags.

So what are the advantages or disadvantages
of airbags versus air-shocks (Hi-Jackers)?

Airshocks are cheap. A major problem with them is that your shock mounts were never designed to support the weight of the truck. It would be a failure waiting to happen.

OK so the air shocks sound like they may be a bad idea. Thanks.

I was just looking around for a set of Firestone air bags and the cheapest I've come across is on eBay - prices range from $220 to 245 (shipping included). Is that about right?
