2003 Lower Ball Joints

It appears that I only get 60,000 miles on my lower ball joints. Is this the norm?

I actually don't think there is a "norm" on this. Too many variables....lift, tire size/weight, how you drive or abuse it, etc, etc. I've seen guys get much less than you and I've got 80k on my originals with lift/big tires and they're still solid. My uppers went out about 25k ago, but the lowers are going strong.

I started having vibration problems. You can check them by jacking the front of the truck off the ground, grabbing the tires and trying to move them. Grab them at the 12 and 6 o'clock position. If you can move it, your ball joints are bad. Grab it again at the 3 and 9 o'clock position. If you can move it that way the tie rod ends are bad.

Nice, thanks for the info. easy enough to check. Truck has started vibrating also, starts at 45mph and up. Bummer, guess i'll have something to do this weekend.
