Just looking for the 4.6 L lifted! i wanna see how big you can go with a 4.6 and tires, and still be able to drive the thing. I wanna see some pics,i just bought a 04 xlt 4.6L 4x4. I love it wanna lift it but i wanna see some pics!

Nice I think im gona stick with my 4.6..been even thinking about doing a 5.4 engine swap, I have a shop and the tools to do it, I just dont really know what im doing. If I had all the right parts and simple instructions i could do it...But I think that means i need to replace my tranny and rear end, thats big bucks aint it, I wonder how much Id pay at a wreckers for that...But i dunno if all you guys dont have any major problems with a 6 inch lift, with 35's which is what I want..Ill do it, i just hope my truck can pull its own wight around, not like a slug...I will do engine upgrades Ive been doin research And for some reason there aint much I can do with the 04 4.6...What they changed to a 3 valve in 05??? I see theres so many more options you can buy for the 05's and up but not the 04?? i think that suckss, like im talkin like I cant find anything but cold air intakes and super chips, and pulleys, and throttle spacers..I do have dual exhaust already but i wanna update it to true duals, they just got they pipes going into 1 pipe than spliting at the back end..Thrush exhaust, I want something louder. The guys who put it in said it was Flowmaster(im in canada i dunno if that makes a difference), apparently Thrush bought out flowmaster\?? i dont think thats true i still hear of flowmasters all the time..weird..cuz i went in there and asked straight up for flowmasters 40 series cuz i heard thats nice aloud, and there like nope, they dont make flowmasters anymore..i was like whatttt..But ya anyways, if i can get my 4.6 up to 300hp Id be happy..and ill change my gears as well..if i change my gears can i still change my od on and off, thatd be sweet..so the 4.6 l has 230 h stock..all i have is a k&n replacement filter and duals, i think it might of added mabee 10 hp..it was definately abit more preppy with these 2 updates..but other than that I wanna change to a cold air intake, best one you can get..which i dunno is the best...then I want headers, i dunno if anyone can get me a part number or anytthing or if they know of any headers that work on the 04 4.6..i wouldnt dought it if they dont make em for the 04...but ya, I guess ignition msd, throttle spacer, superchip or any kind, something i dont have to order off the net cuz i dont have a visa..and change my gears..Can i get adifferent intake or anything? i dunno if theres much else I can do..every time i look for upgrades i get dissapointed. Like is there any turbos i can get or superchargers that will work, i dunno..I just want a bit more powerr..best way possible..Cuz im definately gettin that lift and 35's or 38's...

you could bolt a 2 valve 5.4 in placeof your 4.6 with minor changes and run the same ECM, trans and axles
you will be fine with your 4.6 as others have stated above gearing is your friend, there are several turbo's for your truck and you CAN run a '97-'03 4.6 supercharger with some modifications
i added intake and a custom tune and with my 35's i beat my friend 99 f150 4.6 by about a truck length yesterday. dont be afraid of getting bigger tires and killing your power, a tuner and intake will give you alot of it back if not all of it. if you go bigger than 35's gear it and you will be more than happy with power
i have k&n's 63 series intake i didn't feel to much HP gain but i had just ripped out my edge tuner so i didn't get to drive the truck before w/ out the tuner to see. you can hear the intake suck in air which i like alot. the sct xcal 2 made the biggest difference in the drivability of my truck tho.
once i finish building my fj40, headers efans underdrive pulleys and gears will definitely be going on the truck to make it quicker and better for towing
