Robs 1996 f150 6 inch lift (In progress) with pics!
*Update January 23 2009* Video on page 3!***
Hey everyone I am new here and thought I would introduce myself to the community by starting a thread on the progress of my truck. I traded my custom 98 ranger (2wd) for this beast here and in the process of turning it into something I have always dreamed of. I was at it for nearly 12 hours today. I ran into quite a few issues with stuff that was seized or did not fit quite right. Either way progress is being made, and I can not wait to get the new tires on and hit up a trail. (I do not look forward to filling the tank often)
The setup I bought was a 6 inch "suspension special" from national tire and wheel. Cost me 803 cdn dollars after shipping and duty
Lift Arrives!
It is a superlift

How it sits stock
This bird actually flew into my window while I was grabbing a bite to eat. I opened the door to see if it was ok, and the bugger flew inside. After it almost got eaten by my cat it allowed me to pick em up. So I held him for a bit hoping to reduce the shock from the mach chicken collision, then tried to release him outside. Took about 25 minutes to get him to let go of my hand. Have to admit he is pretty cute :P
Taking the stock setup apart
Installing the superlift blocks

Other side is prepped and waiting
Cleaning up the locater pins on the bump stops.
Voila! Installed! I am quite happy with the height so far. The meaty 33x12.5's I am getting free should add some more height and fill out the wells better. Later on some 35's and a body lift will really make it look good. (Well and the body work coming this spring)

Haha I have the truck in the shop now, there was a disassembled snow blower laid out in there when I got the kit. I will be heading out there to attempt to continue in the next half hour or so. I also did not have an option in the kit to get leafs instead of blocks. However considering the initial cost was 499.99usd, I was not expecting anything too spectacular. I am happy with what came

Hey guys sorry for the slow reply. I have had the truck done for exactly a week now. Unfortunately I have been trying so hard to figure out my driveline vibrations I have not taken any pictures of it complete I am off work tomorrow, so I promise I will get some updated ones I could really use some advice on my issues though.
What I am getting is bad vibration (4wd is unusable due to terrible vibration, almost grinding) in 2wd. I have had the driveshaft balanced and shimmed. However I believe they set the angles up as if i was running a cv joint. I am going to buy an angle finder and do it myself. Not to mention last night driving home in the huge snow storm i had ridiculous vibrations that I was getting VERY nervous to continue driving with. I go out today and have a look at my truck, and the damn shop left my LUGNUTS untightened on the rear left wheel. I can not wait to call them tomorrow and chew them out. Someone could have been killed.
Ill get some pictures, it will help a ton. I would swap to a double cardon cv joint...except my borg 1356 has a slip yoke instead of a fixed. :S
