2.5" vs. 3" spacer

thinking about getting a 3" spacer for my truck and then putting a 1" shim in the rear just for a little more hight. i know that 3" is usually frown on because of ball joint and cv issues. i have a 2x4 so i dont have to worry about cv angles. i plan to run the camburg upper control arm so the upper ball joint will be solid so i dont have to worry about that. do you think the lower ball joint will survive with a 3" spacer (leveling kit)?
