Body Lift..

Had a body lift on my old 02 single cab with 33's.. New truck is an 06 4x4 I ordered the leveling kit but am wondering if the body lift on the newer body style looks tacky.. I just want a few inches.. Its alot more than my old one but is there a suspension lift for 3 or 4"'s around the same price.. Anyone have a newer body style with just a body lift.. Thanks

Brandon

your best thing is to go with a suspension lift, body lift install prices are very high. i paid $300 body lift and $650 just for install total of $1020 and thats cuz i was lucky.

body lifts dont look tacky, as long as you get crucial parts to hide it. like nerf bars and gap guards. i paid 300$ for body lift and 500$ install.

I agree with nooq. I think Body Lifts look bad on just about every vehicle EXCEPT these newer body style F150's. Like nooq said, get the gap guards and some nerf bars and most people won't be able to tell. You can get the body lift parts at a good price and maybe you and a couple buddies could do the install. It would save you a good chunk of change.

Also, Rancho does make a 4" suspension lift. And I think it's Superlift with the 4.5" suspension lift. Both good kits but both a bit more pricey then body lift.

Ha no I drove mine for 2 years with one on it.. Had many compliments on it.. All I am asking is how they look on the new ones. Havent seen to many people with them on the new body styles.. Just wondering if I am better off with leveling kit and nothing or getting the body lift.. I just dont want to re gear like I had to on my old truck.. Thanks for the input fellas

Im sorry bud, i guess i shoulda said on Ford F150's in general. No I don't think your truck looks bad at all. Actually you, along with Nooq and a couple other guys on here are the ones that showed me how good a body lift can look if done right. I used to own a Chevy, so when i think of ugly body lifts I immediately think of ANY chevy. Or Jeeps... they also can look pretty goofy. Sorry Keith, but IMO your truck is pretty sweet looking.

Brandon: In that case, if your not trying to regear, you would probably be best off with a 2" leveling kit (cheap and easy to install, definately a DIY job) and maybe some nice looking rims and 33" tires (or stock rims and 33" tires). i actually really like a lot of the stock F150 rims. Which engine are ya running bud? 5.4, 4.6, or the 4.2 ? ?

Aight, thanks. There are a couple ways, which will drastically improve the way your body lifts look. I agree, body lifts look like dog **** on chevys. On our f150s you can put gap guards, nerf bars, raise exhaust, and put some chevy tow hooks and they look great....

I use GM towhooks on my Screw because they bolted right on and fit the openings in my valance after my body lift. I'm not sure how the towhooks on the new trucks mount.

That sure does make it look real nice. Thanks guys. I wonder if it will still work for the newer body style ... hmm. I guess it"ll just have to be something i keep an eye out for. It's either that or make some kinda braket to raise my tow hooks up. (BTW I like the new Sig keith, looks real nice except for that lil black convertible You also own that lil guy? )
