Rancho RS5236 vs. RS5247
Rancho RS5236 vs. RS5247
Hello,
I have a 2000 XLT 2wd and I want to use Rancho RS5000 shocks... The Rancho catalog calls for RS5236 in the REAR w/o the 7700 lb payload pkg, and RS5247 w/ the payload pkg....
Anyone know if the RS5247 will work as a direct bolt up ??
Thanks!

Just taking an educated guess here but...I would say the only difference between the two shocks is in the valving becaue there's no difference in how/where the shocks fit the axle/truck. Will it bolt in?? Most likely yea...but why not go with the correct shock listed for your truck??
Well, I answered my own question, or Rancho did. I found a number for their tech support and called and got the physical specs on the two shocks: RS5247 will not fit because its lower mounting hole is 14mm whereas the 5236 is 12mm.
I wanted to use the RS5247 because I thought it might be a more robust shock required for the 7700lb payload. There is some diff in the valving, but it's a moot point. Can't use it on the non - 7700lb model (F250, light duty).
So I ordered the RS5235 (front) and RS5236 (rear)
Great price from Amazon.com, btw. $156 bux with free 2-day shipping.
