Body lifts

I have a 97 F150 and I want to run bigger tires, but right now I cant afford a suspension lift so I have been looking at a body lift. How big of a tire can i run with a 3 inch body lift? I do someday plan on a suspension lift, I just wonderin if i should go with the body lift and add the suspension or just wait for the money for suspension......

I have the body lift and you can fit 35s on a 16x10 wheel with 4.5" of backspacing. I am adding a 6inch suspension to mine too. Either way would be nice. I would wait and have it all done at once. Might save you some labor $$$$.

I agree. On a 4x4, you could fit 35x12.50's. If you have a 4x2, you could fit 33's.

Just save your money and wait for the suspension lift. It will look better, ride better, and save you money on labor. (and im not knocking on BL's at all)

Talking Footprints in the snow

Less than two hundred bucks for a body lift you will probably want to do after the suspension lift anyway. No change in ride quality, and no added stress on suspension parts. Great way to go if you dont really need the clearance, Clarence.

Oh yeah baby, the Upsman dropped off my shift kit and body lift today...... ...... Life is good. And my wife hates all of you

Free beer for anyone that wants to install it for me too.

Wait till you have the money and drop the 6inch suspension and 3 inch body with some 37s or 38s at one time.

Thanks, it would save money on labor to do both at same time. what is a good, but cheap 5 to 6 inch suspension lift? I have heard RCD makes an affordable 5 inch but I rather have 6 .What are some recommended suspension lifts of 6 inches?

RCD is adjustable with the bilstein shocks. It will get you your 6 inches and be the best one you can get...

That is because RCD the best one you can get now because the Donahoe Racing Kit is no longer being made., and whats wrong with running 35's instead of 37's on a 6" suspension + a 3" body lift ?

If you compare a true 35" tire ( lots of 35's are 34.5") to a true 37" tire there is only 1" difference when on the truck hardly noticeable at all if you look at this picture between my brother's Ram and my F 150 you can see the difference is not much at all, he has **** Cepek Radial F-C II 37/13.50/15 and I have Parnelli Jones Dirt Grips 35/12.50/17 that measure 35.3 lot's of guy's that have seen my truck think I have a 36 on there as well

It looks fine on your truck....but other trucks that dont have a true 35 will look different. He is a 37 on 9" and he is 35s on 9"

37's

35's

I was really paticualr on running a true 35' I didnt care for how the 37' seemed too "stuffed in" for me

The pic of my truck that you posted there was with 35's and a 6" here is one with 35's and a 3" body lift much better IMO
